Gravel entry and gravel parking on-site. Good water pressure and 30 amp electric. Picnic table on every site with small patch of grass between sites. No fire pits seen and bathhouse was closed when we visited in March. Quiet at night and we were lucky there weren't any coaches parked on either side of us. Campground is 30 mins west of Ashville and 8 minutes away from downtown Old Fort, NC. You might want to buy all your supplies before you arrive at the campground since there are no immediate grocery stores within campground. There is a pharmacy, grocery store, 2 fast food restaurants, some gas stations in the town of Old Fort. Close to interstate 4O and short drive to Catawba waterfalls. I'd definitely stay here on any future visits.
This campground may not have all the luxuries of say a KOA campground however the discounted rate for Passport America members ($15 a night - cash only) and the beautiful area this campground is located at more than makes up for it. Peaceful and quiet the beautiful views of the mountains along with starry nights make this a very special campground in my opinion. Owner Jean was very friendly and welcoming over the phone (she wasn't on-site at the time). She was very thorough about campground, how to check in and allows you to select the site of your choosing when you arrive.
