The campground could become crowded if it were to be busy- the spots are close together.
6/5 stars. My boyfriend and I were on a camping Road trip through the south (were from wisconsin) we stopped at a KOA near by with plans of staying there but they didn't have girls over their fire pits (which we needed to cook) and it was stupid expensive so we went here instead. The staff were amazing Rick was super helpful and nice the place was beautiful and peaceful and quaint. They had little mini houses as one of their spots you could rent it and kids could stay in it. Super cute! The falls are a short walk up the road and so beautiful. You can do an easy hike to the first set of falls and then you can keep going and do a very difficult climb the rest of the way up the mountain to see the most beautiful place I've ever been to another waterfall. I will definely be driving all the way back to NC just to see those falls again.
We stayed one night in the Gypsy cabin. Although it sounded enchanting, we should have just stayed in our tent. The cabin is gorgeous & unique, however, being it's shut up most of the time, it is musty & dusty. The AC didn't work. It was much cooler outside & we had no way of opening the window for fresh air. I believe the air mattress would have been more comfortable than the bed provided in the cabin.
The "gazebo" was falling apart, there where chunks missing from the dock and I actually fell through it. We also had someone steal all of our food and some of my personal items while we where away from camp.
This is a quiet little Campground nestled away with a beautiful stream running through it. There's nothing fancy here just ehat you need for a relaxing time. The staff is great friendly and willing to get you what you need. There is a 100 foot water fall short drive up the road definitely worth the time to go see
We would love to go back someday; just gonna do the tent thing instead.
It's family run & they are nice folks & helpful.
The creek runs through the camp & we thoroughly enjoyed exploring that.
The owner was nice and helpful but this place is anything but a hidden gem. Do not let the positive reviews fool you like they did us. Pack dooe to door in someone's back yard is a better description.
